陳勢安日前為新歌〈敗將〉拍攝MV，導演安排他在漆黑的房間誠實面對自我，檢視過往的戀情、與舊愛的回憶，坦然面對愛情中的失敗經驗，這場戲卻意外挖掘出他的脆弱面，回想起過去那３年未發片的低潮，情緒無法回復，只好要求現場停機１小時，讓自己冷靜。
他近來通告滿檔，拍攝前一晚幾乎沒睡，導致在片場只要一有空，就立刻補眠，被虧有「秒睡」本領，上一秒他才和別人對話，下一秒就睡著，同事笑說：「還是別跟他聊天好了，因為實在抓不住他的Tempo。」
他人雖累，但演出時仍注重細節，有幕他要與女主角親密耳語，向來很ㄍㄧㄥ的他，深怕自己「口氣」不佳，出動所有清香「法寶」：牙膏、牙刷、漱口水、口氣清新劑，還請同事再三確認「聞香」，保證沒有怪味才上陣，再次展現他追求完美的偏執性格。
錄音時他則吃足苦頭，製作人要他拋棄原本「美聲」唱法，改用真實口吻詮釋，光副歌就被磨了12小時，他形容：「這首歌唱了幾百次，連我自己都數不清了，只為追求更多不同面貌。」
